ZLDC AND KENYA LAW REFORM COMMISSION HOLD MEETING FOR ALRAESA SECRETARY GENERAL HANDOVER

On the sidelines of the 11th Ordinary Session of the Specialised Technical Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, the Zambia Law Development Commission (ZLDC) held a meeting for the handover of the position of Secretary General of the Association of Law Reform Institutions for East and Southern Africa (ALRAESA) with the Kenya Law Reform Commission in Nairobi, Kenya.

The meeting took place at the Kenya Law Reform Commission offices and was led by Senior Counsel Christine Agimba, Chairperson of the Kenya Law Reform Commission and elected Chairperson of ALRAESA. The ZLDC was represented by its Director and Commission Secretary, Mrs Hope Ndhlovu-Chanda.

The meeting followed the elections held in November this year at the ALRAESA Annual General Meeting in Lilongwe, Malawi, where Zambia, through the ZLDC, was elected as the incoming Secretariat of the Association, while Kenya, through the Kenya Law Reform Commission, was elected Chairperson of ALRAESA.

Also present at the meeting were Mr Peter Musyimi, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the Kenya Law Reform Commission and Mr Edward Maroncha, Law Reform Counsel at the Kenya Law Reform Commission.
