In an expression of partnership and national service, Bookworld Zambia has donated stationery materials valued at K42,987.54 to the Zambia Law Development Commission (ZLDC) in support of the Third Edition of the Zambia Parliamentary Model United Nations (ZAMP-MUN) Conference.
The donation, handed over at Bookworld’s Head Office in Lusaka, will directly enhance the experience of student participants from across the country, empowering them to engage in simulated parliamentary and diplomatic processes that foster leadership, civic awareness, and a deeper understanding of law reform.
ZLDC Director, Hope Ndhlovu-Chanda, expressed heartfelt appreciation for Bookworld’s contribution, noting that “strategic partnerships with the private sector are vital in empowering young people and strengthening democratic learning platforms like ZAMP-MUN.”
She also hinted at plans to convene a Private Sector Platform to explore legislative reforms that support business growth and national development.
In welcoming the ZLDC delegation, Bookworld Zambia Director, Mr Shreeje Nayee, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to educational and civic initiatives, stating that the donation reflects their belief in youth-driven progress and inclusive development.
The handover ceremony was attended by ZLDC staff, including Finance Manager Mr. Charles Mafumo, and Research Officers Mr. Yamikani Ngoma, Ms. Kasonde Chilubanama, and Mr. Innocent Siachitoba.
The upcoming ZAMP-MUN conferences will be held as follows:
- Secondary Schools Edition: 27–28 February 2026 in Mongu, Western Province.
- Universities & Colleges Edition: 27–28 March 2026 in Livingstone, Southern Province.
These activities are being organised under the ZLDC’s broader initiative to mark 30 years of its law reform mandate, an important milestone underscored by a strengthened commitment to youth participation, civic awareness, and inclusive governance.
