Education- A Cornerstone Strengthened by the Law

The panel discussions on Education and Financial Inclusion highlighted the importance of law reforms in promoting equitable access to quality education and financial resources for women-led SMEs. In education, the current legal framework was found to be inadequate in addressing emerging issues such as technology, and the need for a policy direction to regulate the abuse of technology advancement was emphasised. Additionally, the Constitution should expressly provide for the right to education, and facilities should be made user-friendly for persons with disabilities. In financial inclusion, women-led SMEs face significant barriers in accessing financial services, capital, and growth opportunities. The proposed recommendations emphasised the need for regulatory reforms, financial policies, and capacity-building initiatives tailored to the unique challenges faced by women in business. These include establishing institutions to offer financial resources, introducing women-centric quotas, creating low-cost funding options, and developing collaboration between financial institutions and entrepreneurs. By implementing these reforms, Zambia can promote equitable access to education and financial resources, driving economic development and social sustainability.
